L’Alga MeDa, a Dutch brand of algae-based hair products, has started its cooperation with Raben in 2021, after deciding to close its warehouse and outsource the whole supply chain to an external company. Fast forward three years, the collaboration between the two companies has developed to a solid partnership between two local companies focusing on their respective international markets.

From local connection to international success

With 165 logistic hubs in 15 European countries, Raben Group has positioned itself as an international logistic provider with extensive network and distribution capabilities. With 98% of L’Alga MeDa’s shipments going to destinations abroad, it proved to be a perfect match for the distribution of hair products across Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa. It was not just a coincidence that these companies started to work together in 2021.  Both their headquarters are located in the same city. Together they prove where Dutch excellence can take you when competing in international markets.

We consciously chose Raben in Oss because they have a conveniently located warehouse and distribution hub for international transport close to our global headquarters. That choice turned out very well, as we have now been working with Raben’s team for 3 years to our satisfaction. This is mostly due to the short time between the placement of orders and having the orders ready for shipment, very good communication between Raben’s inbound/outbound team and L’Alga MeDa’s customer service, the flexibility and suggesting solutions tailored to our specific needs and lastly a well-maintained warehouse, ensuring proper storage of goods - said Jan van Rangelrooij, Managing Director at L’Alga MeDa.

From inbound to outbound and beyond

As L’Alga MeDa outsourced all of its logistic activities to Raben, the hair products move through several stages of the logistic supply chain within Raben’s supervision. When a supply shipment arrives at the Raben warehouse in Oss, all goods are checked on quantity and quality, as well as being received and moved to storage locations at the warehouse. After receiving, all activities can be followed by the customer via Raben’s myStock application. When an order needs to be shipped out, the warehouse team prepares the shipment according to the specific needs of the customer, before transferring the products to the transport department. Thanks to the seamless connection between the warehouse and transport teams and systems, the L’Alga MeDa team can follow their products at every step of the journey.

For the past 3 years we have enjoyed a fruitful cooperation with L’Alga MeDa. Their shipments are distributed to many diverse destinations, both within and outside of the Schengen area. The intricacies of shipping outside of the Schengen area necessitate solutions adapted to the specific requirements of each destination.
